I had 2 beautiful boxers George and Millie. I let Millie have one litter of puppies, she was an amazing mum. I fell in love with them all, it was the worse thing in the world letting them go at 8 weeks old, I was heartbroken and never stop thinking about them all. I kept 2 puppies, Harvey and Alice, they were inseparable, they were so funny together, always playing together. Alice grew up to be the most beautiful, sweetest, funniest boxer I have ever known, on walks she would get the others to chase her, she could run so fast, all you would see were her long legs and big ears flapping up and down, she was so comical. Alice became unwell, I took her to the vets, she had a high temperature, she was given antibiotics, which didn`t work, the vet swapped them for some different ones, 2 days later she seemed back to her old self then over the weekend she went downhill again. I took her to the vets first thing Monday morning and the vet kept her in, she died that afternoon, her organs packed in, she was 5 years old. Cant get that phonecall from the vets out of my head, telling me she wasn`t coming home, it cuts like a knife. Alice I miss you so much, life will never be the same without you, your mummy and brother still look for you on the walk. Love you forever my precious girl xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

If I had known that on that day our time was near the end
I would have done things differently, my forever friend.
I would have stayed right next to you deep into the night

I am standing upon the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze
and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength,
and I stand and watch until at last she hangs
like a speck of white cloud
just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says,
" There she goes! "
Gone where?
Gone from my sight . . . that is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar
as she was when she left my side
and just as able to bear her load of living freight
to the place of destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just at the moment
when someone at my side says,
" There she goes! "
there are other eyes watching her coming . . .
and other voices ready to take up the glad shout . . .

Remember
I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying. You found it hard to sleep.
I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."
I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me.
I was with you at the shops today. Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.
I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care.
I want to re-assure you, that I'm not lying there.
I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said "It's me."
You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there.
It's possible for me to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."
You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew...
in the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.
The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning
and say "Good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."
And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.
I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.

I got a gift!
It came with no fancy ribbons or bows
It was very simple but more special than any other gift before
